Every One's A Winner

I don't think I've heard this song in years. Had one of those Happy Moments with it today when it started playing on my radio when I was on my way home. Didn't have to get out of the car until it was all over. Some songs are for listening to and marveling at how great the musicianship is, others are for bootay shakin'. This is a bootay shakin' tune.

Green River

I just realized that I have NO CCR or John Fogerty in my CD library. I think I'll buy myself an early Christmas present. LOL

Sweet Rock Lazy Sunday Candy

I don't know why guys want to join the Hair Club. Bald is sexy, especially when playing a mean axe.

Taking It Easy

A little older, maybe a little wiser. Definitely a little slower. Taking it a little easier than I used to, but I'm still up for a Slow Ride.

Chasing The Blues Away

Sometimes Youtube yields a gem among gems. Such is the case with this video that I stumbled over while looking for a decent version of Wilson Pickett's "Midnight Hour". BB King, SRV, Etta James, Billy Ocean, and Gladys Knight all together on stage although not all were singing. Some day someone will upload a really good version of "Midnight Hour" but until then...

Ballas Hough Band

Two of my favorite professional dancers on Dancing With The Stars are Mark Ballas and Derek Hough. They're friends with an interest in music and dancing, of course. There had been a mention last year that they had a band together called Ballas Hough, but I heard nothing of their music until last night. They performed on the show last night and I liked what I heard.

Today I went snooping around in Youtube and found a video of the song they performed last night and somehow without the dancing they did during their performance, it didn't appeal to me as much. I snooped around some more and found some videos of them doing other performances.

The jury is still out on them as far as I'm concerned. Most of the videos I found were embedding disabled or sounded great as long as people were talking but had serious audio issues when the guys began to perform. Never let it be said that I am hidebound and inflexible when it comes to new music, I stuck with the video hunt until I found this performance of them in March on the Bonnie Hunt Show.

I don't know if they're working towards making a profession out of music other than as dancers, but I'm willing to give them a chance to show me what they've got. How about you?
