Two of my favorite professional dancers on Dancing With The Stars are Mark Ballas and Derek Hough. They're friends with an interest in music and dancing, of course. There had been a mention last year that they had a band together called Ballas Hough, but I heard nothing of their music until last night. They performed on the show last night and I liked what I heard.
Today I went snooping around in Youtube and found a video of the song they performed last night and somehow without the dancing they did during their performance, it didn't appeal to me as much. I snooped around some more and found some videos of them doing other performances.
The jury is still out on them as far as I'm concerned. Most of the videos I found were embedding disabled or sounded great as long as people were talking but had serious audio issues when the guys began to perform. Never let it be said that I am hidebound and inflexible when it comes to new music, I stuck with the video hunt until I found this performance of them in March on the Bonnie Hunt Show.
I don't know if they're working towards making a profession out of music other than as dancers, but I'm willing to give them a chance to show me what they've got. How about you?
Not bad at all. A rather peppy popish piece indeed....
ReplyDeleteI liked it.

They did an interesating piece last night called "Move". I enjoyed it, but it didn't do much for me without the dancing today. It had a techno flair to it which I sometimes like. Only sometimes.
ReplyDeleteI found live performances at something called The Grove and when they started singing it was fuzzy almost as if someone was running a motor at the same time.
